Ms. Hori prepares and prosecutes patent applications. Before joining the Firm in February, 2015, she worked for some patent law firms in Japan, first as a patent engineer, and then beginning in 2006 as a Japanese patent attorney. Ms. Hori was a partner at one of the largest patent law firms (Hibiki IP Law Firm) in Japan from 2008 until 2013. She has 14 years of patent prosecution experience in Japan, handling both domestic and international applications. In Japan, she drafted more than 1000 patent applications, met with inventors, and handled hundreds of office actions issued by the patent offices of Japan and several other countries. Ms. Hori obtained a year's training for U.S. patent practice at U.S. patent law firms during 2008-2009. In 2013, Ms. Hori returned to the U.S. to join another U.S. law firm, where she focused on U.S. patent practice, before joining Rabin & Berdo.

Technical Field

Ms. Hori has a Master's degree in material science, but since 1999 has mainly handled patent cases relating to electrical engineering and computer science, more specifically, information processing, image processing, encoding/decoding devices, semiconductor devices, and robotics.
